Fall color in the swamp

Nice - not sure I have seen your swamps with fall colors before.

What's the lens you are playing around with? Is this one of the perks of working in a camera store?

It looks like some nice fall colors coming Barry. What lens are you testing out? Is this a perk of your new job?
Nice. Looks like a telephoto?
Alan, for sure! I'm trying an older model of the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8. This is a used one in our store, and I'm considering the newest 'Sport' version. It's a big, heavy lens, but insanely sharp and fast.
Definitely not one for hand holding, but I'm almost always on the tripod anyway so I'm interested. I've got to prove to myself the lens speed benefit is worth the weight and price. (My other favored option is Sigma's 100-400, also reportedly an extremely sharp lens, much lighter, in weight and price! I recently sold my old Canon 100-400. Never fully satisfied with it.)
So far, color me impressed! And the one I'm using doesn't have image stabilization (not needed on a tripod anyway) nor the USB dock connectivity for customization, but it's still impressive!
BTW, this image consists of three frames focus stacked (Helicon Focus) taken at 300mm!
