Fall along the Lower Smith River

The Smith River in Oregon is between the Siuslaw River that flows into Florence and the Umpqua River that meets the Pacific near Reedsport and flows into the Umpqua near the town of Gardiner. This is the scene looking upstream along the road that follows the Smith near its confluence with the Umpqua. Three panels shot with a 28mm lens.

The pano showcases this area well. I like the train tracks leading the eye into the scene with fall colors on both sides of the river.
Thanks Jameel - the scene begs for panos as it was far too wide for a single frame. The cut along the left hand side of the river is actually a road. There was a large sawmill operation in the town of Gardiner back in the late 1800's and early 1900's but with waterways like this one the loggers just floated the logs down the river to the mill.

Love that view! Great one Alan. That hillside on the left looks to be creeping into fall really nicely.
