Going back over some files I never uploaded, an entire trip to BBNP back in late fall of 2015 (we went twice that year). Exploring some slot canyons provided us this wonderful view. The lines and texture led me to a conversion of this digital file in LR to monochrome. I may post a similar color version of this tomorrow.

The lines and surfaces do lend themselves nicely to B&W. I especially like the thin layers with the smoothed edges just above the base sandstone.

Fantastic, Jon! You've got very strong comp here to my eyes with the edges leading you up through the center of the image.

You *might* be able to recover a little highlight detail in some of the hotter spots, but overall very nicely processed. What's that little line that appears to be an antenna in the upper-right hand corner?

Thank you Jeff. The little antenna thing is a stalk coming up out of the sotos plant.

Nicely done. I wouldn't try to work on the highlights, but my monitor seems to be set a bit low compared to others. If it were mine I'd clone out the stalk, which I find distracting.
