Dollhouse 3.

This is a sunset shot taken from the Dollhouse 3 campground. I am including a shot of our camp. It was not as barren as it looks, there was a neat cave to hang out in that sheltered us from sun and some wind.

I was also out here the next morning, but I did not get anything worth processing.

Canyonlands is an amazing place, and you always do it justice, Ben. I am guessing that you could tease out some more color in the sky by saturating it a bit.

Neat area. Looks like you had some good weather and good light while you were there.
Thanks Kurt, good light on the ground, not so much in the sky

Thanks Douglas. I probably could, but this is pretty honest so far.

Very cool Ben! I like what you got, more color would have been sweet, but this is still pretty nice. And what a cool camp.

As for Rick, he has an electrical outlet under the hood? That’s pretty crazy! I have a 110 outlet inside my Jeep.

Rick making coffee on the engine reminds me of being in the Army and when we would go out in the field, it was very common to stick our cans of food on the exhaust manifold to heat them up.

Random notes:
I have a small drip coffee maker I use to make coffee in camp (it pulls 700 watts during brewing so I connect directly to the battery) but also in motel rooms on the way to camping as I get up too early for most Star Bucks stores or motel coffee bars to be open. I bring my own fresh ground coffee. I have a camp stove but I am not crazy about percolated coffee probably because I do not have enough experience brewing coffee that way. Strong winds complicate matters. Lattes and Cappuccinos on me.

Probably the reason Ben doesn't have anything from sunrise was because the sun was obscured presumably by smoke and haze from the New Mexico fires. I am going to take a first look at my images this weekend to pick keepers. I probably will not let a failed sunrise keep me from picking a keeper. Of course, Ben has higher standards than myself. :)

You can see a couple of slabs of rock behind Ben's truck adjacent to the hood that broke off from the main formation and created a cave-like space. We sheltered there and cooked our steaks behind those slabs. The winds were fierce. When we visited in October of last year on our Millard campsite trip, the winds in general were lighter except for one night when a storm blew through.

Rick, thanks for chiming in. I don't know about higher standards.

I also wanted to note that I have a refrigerator in my truck and we had either steak or pork chops for dinner each night.
