This looks awesome as a B&W Jameel. So much so, that are you sure the color wasn't good? This looks so good in B&W it's hard to imagine it looking bad in color. :)

Looks a bit flat in color because of the light. The color version included - It can potentially be tweaked to make it better.

Both versions are nice, Jameel! I really enjoy the comp. The color version has more depth for me since the colors help add layers.

I think your mono version could be improved by punching it up some more with your blacks, mids and whites. You might have a bit of some haloing going on along the horizon, but it could just be my eyes.

This would make for a pretty insane IR shot.

b&w worked well here, i like the richness of the dark tones in the trees.
