Desert Wildflowers - BBNP

Even just a little rain or snow is all it takes for the desert to come alive. This posting is from my 3rd trip to Big Bend National Park. We were way out on the dirt roads enjoying the scenery and natural beauty all around us. Though lighting is during the day and not the ideal golden hours, the wildflowers took the show and lighting was somewhat diffused with some clouds.

I like the color show the blooms add to the desert floor - especially in the first image. I am struck by the interesting looking topography in the last image - nice view behind the small cluster of foreground flowers.

That's quite the steep side on that hill in #3.

That's really cool when we find the desert in bloom.

My favorite of the bunch in #1. While some may find it too busy with some of those dead branches, I like those rocks with that area of a bunch of flat rocks.

Thank you! Yes, I would like to get down into those badlands in #3 with some off trail hiking to see what photo opps I could get.

Thanks Jim. #1 caught my fancy as I was, how should we say, letting go of some water so upon the return to the truck, I grabbed my camera and headed back.

They provide such a nice burst of color juxtaposed in an arid landscape.
Yes! Just love the contrast.

The 1st & 2nd are my favorites. The 2nd one for the expanse & variety of the desert. The 1st for the wildflowers & terrain
I am a fan of the expanse as well :) Thank you.
