Desert Cathedral (Infrared)

Cathedral Rock, probably Sedona’s most iconic and most photographed sandstone formation, takes on a slightly Gothic look if you regard it from the right direction - and assuming you have infrared eyes! This is the view from near Red Rock Crossing, a favorite swimming hole on Oak Creek in Arizona’s Coconino National Forest.

Tech info: Nikon D3200 camera (modified for infrared with 590 nm filter), Nikon 18-140mm lens at 32mm, 1/400 sec. at f8, ISO 200

Neat way to see this landmark - it's a surreal scene in this light and doesn't look like it was even shot on this planet. I love it.

Very cool Jim. I need to get some more IR done too. I like the way the eye is lead to the background with Cathedral Rock.
