Crater Lake Winter Sunset and Night

I drove up to the Rim Center at Crater Lake Friday evening hoping for a nice sunset and some clear skies to photograph the stars overhead. Things worked out pretty good...

1) Sunset over Crater Lake

2) Wide skies during astronomical twilight

3) As the skies got darker, a purple tint crept into the scene. Trust me, I didn't add it and actually tried to tame it a little.

Thank you - we didn't stay that late, I think it only got a little below freezing while we were there.

Three beautiful timed captures. The two centered foreground trees anchor the composition well in the first image—my favorite. All are gorgeous.
