I'm surprised there arn't that many shots of the comet. I'm sure they will be coming. I've been in a slump for imaging, I've been doing it for so long I needed to take a little break. I did get inspired by this naked eye comet. It did get a little cloudy but the tail was still visible through the high clouds. Here is a shot before it got into more clouds. I used the Canon 80d and the 70-200 f4 lens. 2 sec shot and I did boost the brightness up.

Hey Chuck, it just hasn't worked out for me. It being so close to the horizon isn't doing it any favors. I have just had lots of clouds. I was thinking of capturing it tonight in South Dakota. I guess with it so low it's best to just use a regular camera instead of our Astro gear?

Thanks Jim, I just used a dslr . It will be higher tonight but I will have clouds the next two days. I think I will use my 28-105 lens next time because the tail is really long and probably will not fit at 70mm on my Canon 80 at a dark site.

Nice version, love the sky and clouds, they add a lot to the shot.

It sure is exciting to finally have a comet live up to the hype :)
