Climb-Ski Mt. Baker

My friend John and I did our annual climb-ski on Mt. Baker yesterday. We had the Squak glacier to ourselves, but saw a few others on top who came up other routes. Neither of us were in great shape, so it took longer than usual - 12 hours car-car. I was too tired to shoot many pictures, and already have lots from here, but got a couple nice snaps for John.

All of my views of that mountain have been looking up at it instead of down. Looks a lot different from your viewpoint. Very nice.

Very cool Jim. I like both of these. #2 is interesting in the scale that it provides showing the immensity of the location.

The being not quite in shape part I can relate too. I am starting to ramp up my running here, but when I hit Colorado in a little over a month my running here at sea level does nothing it seems to prepare me for the altitudes of 8,000 to 13,000 I will be hiking and Backpacking in. Acclimation is a killer for sure. I have a pretty good plan in place that worked well last year so I will be doing that again. But I know unless one is acclimated while the conditioning at sea level is great getting used to the lack of oxygen just takes time.
