this guy had the fish for quite a while before getting it in the correct position to swallow it right down - even dropped it a couple of times but eventually got it

Wow Marcy! That's amazing photography, though perhaps not as amazing as how that bird can swallow the fish whole like that. I know from having fished a few times that fishes bodies are designed with lot's of things that poke your fingers. So I don't know how the bird can swallow it without getting poked to pieces.

they always try and get them going head first down the gullet I have seen some swallow some pretty good size cat fish - that would be a challenge
