yes... check maxmax.com they performed the modification. essentially it is removing the bayer array (color filter array) and micro lenses. Now for pure colors (e.g. red) you get the full 36mpx resolution instead of 9mpx. (color filter array is 9mpx Red, 9mpx Blue and 16mpx Green).The camera is about a stop and half maybe two stops faster (more sensitve) as well.

Thanks for that information, I was wondering the same thing but forgot to ask. That's a really cool result of that mono conversion.
