canon t7 upgrade?

So I am looking at upgrading from my Canon t7 to a used MPB t8i or 90D?

My lenses are the Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art, Sigma 17 – 50 zoom, and the Canon kit 300 zoom and decent manfrotto tripod.
I don’t plan on adding to this kit (Ha-Ha, famous last words) anyway I am not, nor want to be a professional, only a photo hobbyist interested in astro photography and everyday photography.

My question is the 90d worth the extra $250?

Thanks in advance

If the choice were mine I would spring for the 90D. Its a newer model camera with higher resolution than the T8i and would serve you well both now and if you get a little more ambitious with your photography up the road.

FYI Ed, you don't have to be a professional to buy professional camera gear. Most of the gear is regular photographers buy and use are professional cameras, but none of really are professionals.

We aren't hobbyists either, we are just people serious about photography. :)

I am curious how the 60D compares to the 90D? I know very little about Canon cameras, but I do know the 60D is very popular for Astro for those who use Canon gear.

But why not get an R5? I think that one also has positive reviews.

Ed might also be eyeballing an R7 which would be a better long term choice.
Yep, I hate to spend Ed's money for him, but I think Ed, you should buy for the future, not from the past. Lot's of handy new features and upgraded items in a camera today that will make Astro a lot easier for you.

I think you mean the 6D - which was an excellent camera for astro although at 20MP may be lacking in pixels at this point. The ##D series are crop-sensor DSLR bodies and the 90D seems reasonably good deal compared to the R7 or other of the newer, mirrorless options. It has the same resolution as the R7 at a lower price point. I am sure the auto-focus is better on the R7 for what that is worth.

Yep, I think you are right Kyle.

Welp, after watching 100's of reviews and reading lots or product reviews i went with the newer full size sensor R8. I liked its smaller size and photo quality. Time will tell if i made the right descision? 1st lens i got for it is the canon rf 28-70mm f/2.8 is stm lens for a walkabout lens, again after watchung tons of lens reviews. 14mm 2.8 rokimon for astro. Let the games begin
