Bowman Lake Larches

I made my first trek to the northern entrance to Glacier this weekend. The drive from Colombia Falls to Polebridge was gorgeous, with some past prime aspens, prime larches, mountain views, and the north fork of the flathead river. I'll have to spend a lot more time there next fall.

After fueling up on huckleberry bear claws at the Polebridge Mercantile, I made the much rougher drive out to Bowman Lake in Glacier. I couldn't have asked for a nicer scene. The hillsides were glowing with yellow larches and the lake was calm enough for some nice reflections.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Wow - that's a scene worth a revisit for sure. wonderful reflections and the larches really stand out.

Not a part of the park I have visited before. How much of the road leading up there has pavement?

Beautiful image with the larches. I have been there several times but never in fall. That food at the Mercantile is out of this world.

That sure looks awesome Kyle! You couldn’t have asked for a better scene. And to have fueled it with edible bear claws? That’s a great day.
