Thanks Alan: I had the good fortune of photographing the blue heron mating (something I had not seen before nor since) and follow the chick from soon after they hatched until they flew from the nest. i couldn't see the chick very well in the nest until they were about 8 days old. The mating took place on May 13th and chicks first flight about August 2nd. I have at least 2 set of image a week during this time.Wow - I'm jealous this is something you are able to revisit as the chick are growing up.
