Bisti Burn

I am jealous - my last trip there didn't work out so well and especially in terms of skies like that. Neat contrasts in this one.

Gorgeous image, Jim. Great color, beautiful comp (as always). Like Al, when Dave, Deb and I went there we had minimal color -- but the variety and shapes of the rocks and formations were fun -- as was camping out in wicked dust storm that blew Dave's tent away (until I guess I'll say fortunately, it got hooked onto a barbed wire fence. We hid in the truck for a while watching Star Trek on an iPad. Poor light, but great fun.

Thanks Bart, I am glad you liked it!

Yeah, Deb has told me about your guys adventures out there. I can just imagine how bad the wind could be there as it's pretty flat in areas with ridges to help funnel the wind.

I agree, even without a great sky, the shapes out there are enough to carry compositions. Though I have been pretty fortunate with getting good color most of the times I have been there.

Fantastic! Cannot wait to go here Jim.
Thank you Ryan!

It's an awesome area for sure. It's so packed with cool stuff, that even if you got lost and didn't find the actual Bisti Badlands area you still would go home with awesome shots as that whole area is so wonderful.

We might have to arrange a Forum meet up out there sometime! :)
