Sony is scheduled to make a big announcement in about an hour...10AM EST...lots of speculation about what it will be....

-A7RIII
-135 mm G Master
-400 mm lens...either f/2.8 or f/4


I hope its the 135mm...

Yep, they talked a lot about the RX0, and then the RX10 MkIV...soccer moms were thrilled...but at $1700 I doubt they are that thrilled...still not sure who that camera is marketed at...I would not use it to shoot sports or racing...so I was really bummed today.

An update to the a7 series is coming, we all in the Sony world just thought that was gonna be today...and we were let down.

$1,700? wow. That is surprising. I feel that's no mans land. I can't see Hobbyists, semi-pros, or pros using this camera. I can only envision moms wanting to get good quality shots of their young kids and infants. Even then, only wealthy moms would be buying this camera in my opinion. Most will just zoom in with their smartphones.

I don't even see Vloggers using it. too much focal length.

yeah, I am not sure who the target audience is...it seems like wasted tech to me. but they must have sold enough of the MkIII to justify the R&D on the MKIV.

Yeah, I was hoping for more. Even though I don't shoot Sony, it seems like in the last few years Sony has been helping to drive some new innovations, that then trickle down to Nikon and Canon. So I was hoping for more.
