"Back Yard Moon"

I did not plan to travel for an interesting foreground, so I just went with shooting in my backyard. This was the first run with my new Canon 100 - 400mm lens that I purchased recently. Also, I did put a 2X extender on it.

I was able to capture this sequence. Then a large, long bank of clouds move in just as the moon went to totality. I never did see the blood red color. I'm happy for what I was able to capture.

Pretty cool Tex! I had heard that the clouds rolled in and you guys never got to see the red of the Super Blood Moon. That's a shame as it sure did look cool. :)

Tex,

That is a seriously cool image - and nice to see a more unique treatment of the eclipse like this. This establishes both the motion and the time aspects of an event like this that are typically missing from a single image treatment. Even without the blood red totality version included this is a very fun composite image of the event!
