Auroras

I drove away from the city lights. Walked a couple miles along the shore of a lake. I waded into the lake and set my tripod. When I returned to the shore I sat down and waited for the waves to settle. Then I started the exposure.

I sat under a tree and watched the beautiful auroras dancing. I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing and peaceful.

After about 25 minutes I ended the exposure and fetched the camera from the lake. I took a couple more pictures and left back home.

It's my first time seeing this photo. It's awesome!! I definitely like your new version compared to the original, it brings out more stars and you can see that fallen tree better. It loses a little bit of the vivid blue at the top which was nice for contrast to the aurora in the original, but overall I like how you pulled back on the saturation for this one - looks more natural and appealing. Such a sweet photo, I sure would have been proud to take that one home.
