Nice aspen grove. The road between Torrey and Boulder has some really nice turnouts for fall colors.

UT12 is a favorite road for more than a handful of us on this forum

Very nice. I made that drive last week. Some of the views were stunning. But it seemed like the best views had no turnouts. All the "scenic" turnouts were over views of a valley setting.

thanks john, it was really smoky the three days i was in the area. i couldn't see the valley in a few of the turnouts.

Sorry to hear about the smoke. But you didn’t miss much at the turnouts.

I’ve been in the Eastern Sierra today and yesterday and the lack of smoke has been amazing. The colors have been terrific too.

Nice work. I've shot there too, but was never really satisfied with my results. Photos have a hard time capturing the feeling of walking through groves like that on a sunny day and listening to the leaves rustle.

i made it to tennessee yesterday and saw clouds for the first time since september 27th in yellowstone. after that it was cloudless skies and smoky until arkansas. i cut the trip short by about a week but i'll get back out there next year. the fall colors were excellent this year.

thanks jim. i was looking for close up landscapes without any sky. i was pretty happy with the couple of shots i managed in this area.
