Yesterday (Saturday) I took the Sunset Cruise to the Apostle Islands. It was much more crowded then last year, but I still had a blast. Last year there was not any sunset cruises, just a morning cruise, so to be able to get a chance at a sunset this year was an option I couldn't pass on. This image is of the sea caves that dominate Devil Island and are the furthest away from the dock in Bayfield Wisconsin.
The only difficult part of the sunset cruise is that he majority of the compositions are to the west, so it was always a brighter backlit sun that I had to compensate for. Fortunately Nikons have such awesome shadow recovery, so that save the day for me as I could underexpose by 2 stops to keep the clouds from blowing out.
There were a lot of killer shots I got, this one I quickly worked up tonight so I could get it posted. I may not be able to work on the rest for another week until I get back to Colorado.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
