Here are some more Fluorite crystals from my home state of Illinois.


Fluorite with Galena, Cave-In-Rock, IL 9"x3"x6" = 23cmX7.5cmX15cm

Perfect zoned (yellow on the inside and purple on the outside) Fluorite crystals, Cave-In-Rock, IL 4"x4"x3.5" = 10cmX10cmX9cm

Zoned Fluorite with specks of Chalcopyrite on the surface. 9"X7"X6" = 23cmX18cmX18cm

I had never heard of zoned fluorite until just now - neat stuff. I like the first one with the galena and the last one in particular with the little Chalcopyrite crystals gleaming on the surface.

Thanks, Trent. I just use ambient light from a window and then process it with Lightroom and Photoshop. I convert everything around the specimen to black using the brightness tool.

I remember those days. There was a beautiful chunk of granite in someone's yard in our neighborhood, and I used to love to go by and look at it.
