A picturesque view of the old Cape Arago Lighthouse. The lighthouse is mostly inaccessible these days with some distant views from the trails around Sunset Bay State Park. In the case of this shot I wandered a bit off the beaten paths and managed to get to a good viewpoint by following a few footpaths left by some of the local adolescents. The giveaway for the origin of the paths was notable for the scattered beer cans in small clearings hidden in the forest well away from casual adult oversight. You have to be actively seeking unique views and willing to do a bit of bushwhacking to get through the forest here. I tried to leave following a road that was near this viewpoint but found tall chain link fences and a locked gate. It turns out the area is restricted access with the exception of the way I came in via the dense forest. Not sure who owns the land now since all of the signs along the fence were facing the other direction and I had to leave to way I came in to begin with. This is roughly a mile as a crow flies from Shore Acres where @Michael13's recent threads were taken.
C&C always welcome.
