Amazon's Fire HD8 Plus

[Kyle Jones]

Nice to see this finally hit the streets. I thought it was pretty cool to have my image selected for the marketing collateral.

Very seriously cool to score that honor. Congratulations!

Congrats Kyle. Great image too.

Congrats Kyle! What a great honor! Did you get to make any money off of it?

I have looked at the new Amazon Fire HD8 Plus. the thing I didn’t like was it doesn’t include Google Play, just the Amazon store.

They gave me a gift card for a camera store. I'll likely write about my new toy next week.

It is pretty easy to sideload the Google store on the Fire tablets. I've done it.

That's great about the gift card!

I had read about the sideloading of it, and I could do it, but I just really like my electronics to be ready to go and not having to install work arounds. I am sure Amazon would sell a lot more of them if they just included Google Play, perhaps enough to offset any sales and profits they might lose from people using Google Play instead of the Amazon store.

Congrats, Kyle!

Thanks! I use these a lot. I just upgraded, to the 10 though...

I use the 10 myself. I was hoping they'd include the wallpaper in the latest update but no such luck.

Congrats. Is actually worth $10-12K.

Generally true - in this case they were drawing art from employees. (of which I am one). They pay me plenty already so I'm fine with the deal.
