A View to Port Orford

Looking good. At first I thought this might be a drone image, but I guess not.
Thanks Ben - your original guess was correct. This was taken from 377' above the road leading to the Cape Blanco lighthouse. I set my trip down to Brookings up so I could shoot all along the coast with my drone from Reedsport down to Brookings.

That sounds like a great trip, Alan. Can't wait to see the images.

The light adds a real nice atmosphere to this image....well done Alan.
Thanks Amy - the light and the clouds was what caught my eye as I was looking through the captures for that day. Not always easy to see details like that through the console screen while flying the drone.

That patch of light is a nice anchor to the image.
Thanks Jameel - seeing the light on the hillside down in front was a nice treat. I have wandered around this area on foot looking for compositions like this and walked away wishing there was someplace I could get a better view from. Propellers really change the game for areas like this.

Is this a Drone capture? This is sure sweet! Love that light, and very jealous of all of the places you can fly it.

Thanks Jim - yes this is a drone shot. Oregon seems to be the exception for not banning drones so far. Drones can only be used in a Washington State Park with a permit and getting a permit can take weeks.

There is a commission holding meetings right now in Oregon to determine how they will treat drones going forward and at least so far they are not leaning towards how Washington and California have slammed the door shut. The attitude at the moment is that drones are a form of recreation and they should be allowed in parks. There might be more restrictions around coastal areas with lots of nesting sea birds but those will likely be seasonal.
