A Scene from the Hills

A shot from a visit to the Alabama Hills several years ago. From my campsite I could see quite a few vehicles at the trailhead for the Mobius Arch so I decided to just wander off cross country and look for compositions somewhere else. I liked the contrasts in colors and textures looking up at Lone Peak from the bottom of this wash so I grabbed a few shots with this one featuring a small puddle with a few reflections.

Thanks Jameel - I made a mistake on this trip and fled these hills the next day for Death Valley with reports of a storm moving into the area. The storm didn't impact the eastern side of the Hills and DV was an absolute mob scene and a complete waste of time. I drove on towards Valley of Fire which was almost worse yet. I should have stayed put in the Hills.

Mobius Arch is super cool, but the surrounding area is also really special. So many rock formations that are shaped like an artist went through there.
