A Salty Sunset in Death Valley

After a day spent at the racetrack in Death Valley we stopped in bad water basin to catch the sunset on our way out of the park.

Out of probably a dozen different photos I took there I liked this composition the best.

This is an HDR of 3 images taken on a Canon 6D Mark II with a 17-40mm. Shot at 17mm for 1/10sec with one stop -/+, f/11, iso 100.

One of the best sunrises I’ve ever seen came from Badwater Basin on my first ever visit to Death Valley. I camped out in my car after watching the sunset from Mesquite Dunes.

You did the salt flat justice here. Nice job

Awesome work Aaron, you composed the polygons perfectly. Sometimes people get the polygons to feel cut off, you got it perfect I think.

I bet it was incredible! I’ve only been to Death Valley twice but can’t wait to go back again.
Thank you!
