A Rocky Sunset

Driving East on the I-80 today I spotted a whole bunch of rock spires poking out of the hills by Green River Wyoming. I had to make a U-Turn to get off the freeway to get to them. My intention wa to fly the drone around them.

I was in 80 degree temps yesterday but there by Green River it was 33 degrees and I was freezing. I put on a coat, hat and insulated gloves, but staying warm wasn’t happening and flying the drone with the gloves added another level of difficulty.

As soon as the drone was up flying, I also realized the clouds were changing color fast, faster then I realized. So I didn’t get a lot of video or photos, but I got enough I hope.

This is a single shot with out almost no processing since I am still driving. It’s from the DJI Mini 2 drone.

Very nice, looking forward to more from that flight. I can't work the controls well with gloves so suffer in the cold.

Great job Jim. There is a solution to the glove problem. We all need the FPV drone that can be controlled with a joy stick controller. $1200 for warm hands is not a bad trade off.

Very nice, looking forward to more from that flight. I can't work the controls well with gloves so suffer in the cold.

I think I got some decent video with the gloves on, though there are a few times in them the drone twitched around about as my thumbs got too heavy on the controls. The worst part was having to take my right glove off and back on every few minutes as I switched between video and photos.

I appreciate that Amy! And yeah... what's up with the cold? It was making me wish for sunny Southern California again and wondering why it was I was heading to Colorado for Thanksgiving when I could have been down at the beach in SoCal munching on a drumstick.
