A Mountain Bride (and Groom)

As Amy and I were hiking up to Blue Lakes in Colorado a month ago hikers coming down were telling us that there was a bride coming down from Blue Lakes in her wedding dress. The possibility made light bulbs go off in my head about how cool that could look. So we hiked for a short bit but stopped and set up in a spot where we could be just off the trail to shoot as they came by.

So this is what I got, I used some texturing from the Topaz Texture plugin for Photoshop. I always enjoy the few chances to play with it. I know most of you are probably not into textures, but I like them for people portraits.

A funny note here, is while the Bride come down with 3 or 4 others with her, the Groom was probably a good 5 minutes behind her. I am not sure if that is to mean anything in their future as a couple, but it was something I found a bit interesting.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

The one thing that stood out to me was how we like made the Brides day when she saw us off the side of the trail with cameras, and we told her that everyone coming down the trail was talking about her and telling us about her. I am sure that's a little additional memory she will cherish and feel special about on her wedding day.

Good one Jim. I have seen pictures of brides taken at bridalveil falls (see Jameels post at waterfall Wednesday. They were standing behind the falls. Also saw a lot of brides at Logan Pass.

:)
Ha ha, I am glad you enjoyed these Anatoly. :)

As a matter of fact I have shot quite a few weddings. I haven't been pushing to shoot any since I am really busy with FocalWorld, but I am still available to photograph weddings. I find weddings fun to shoot, and it's actually fun to become a part of the family for a short while.

I did when I was with Jameel, saving for waterfall Wednesday. I did not personally see a bride there but I did see the picture. She hiked up and put on her dress and the image was taken
