A Grass spider.

My granddaughter reported to me that there was a giant spider on the table and she had put a glass over it. I brought it to my water bath with a rock and although it ran into the water a number of times and up my arm as I took it out of the water, it did eventually sit still on the top of the rock and allowed a portrait.

Some will do anything to avoid sitting for their portrait!

And this fine specimen had nothing to fear, an experienced photographer can find the best in any subject , as Trent has shown here.

What does your water bath look like? By the look of that rock, it looks like it must be cool looking.

It is just an 8x11 glass baking dish with water and a rock sitting in it. I try and put the spider on the rock and they pretty much always run away and go to the water and test if they can deal with it. Eventually they settle down and I try and get them on the top so I can get a good shot.

She hates spiders and didn't want to see it... I have more work to do!!
