Wandering through my local community garden a Damselfly and a Dragonfly (wait...that sounds like the beginning of a bad joke) where posing in the foliage.
Have not been able to get a species for this Damselfly.
Just got word from iNaturalist this is a Spotted Spreadwing.
This image shows the motor mount on the V8 turbo charge engine.
Pretty sure this is a Cherry-faced Meadowhawk,
Guess I should have waited to post this... BugGuide now tells me this is an Autunm Meadowhawk.
I do find it interesting that I am often obsessed with trying to get an accurate ID. Really it is just a beautiful shade of red and black.
