Nice composition, Alisa. But if they had 100", wouldn't that structure be almost completely covered up? Quite a change in climate: Grand Canyon to the Butte!

Well I don't think all of CB was covered in 100 inches. But that is what was in the paper.

I like the wind blown surfaces on the snow with the old cabin and the nice alpenglow. Beautiful scene.

With drifting like this snow doesn't always accumulate where it fell.

Very cool Alisa! Love the pastel colors in the sky, the cool opening in the fence with the fresh snow and cabin half covered.

100"s in a week, like Alan said would get blown around anyway. And if it was over a week period of off and on, some of it had probably melted or blown off, before more snow had fallen later. No matter what, that snow looks perect!

Wonderful light. I find the framing with the posts a bit distracting. Did you also walk up or zoom in to shoot the house without them? If not I see a nice vertical comp. between them in this shot.

Is that Nettie Kapushin's family cabin?
Great image!

I was in Gunnison last Saturday by coincidence, but didn't go north... Had a mission..
