Aerochrome in the San Juan's + Sample Photos

A DIGITAL VERSION OF KODAK's AEROCHROME IR FILM 665nm conversion (minus the film grain) (I added a matte finish to my image, which lighted up the red) For those no familiar with Aeorchrome, here are a few samples from other photographers:

    Gently it Falls

It started snowing last Sunday morning and I waited a bit to see if it would die out, but it started coming down harder so I gathered up my camera gear and headed out. My goal was to find some good comps with the large cottonwood trees we have in this area. I was quite happy with this one.

    Over Population

Some shots I took for fun last weekend. I wanted to shoot this in Visible Light, but my battery died and my spears were sitting on my kitchen counter. So I had to use my Canon Rebel T3i with a mod of 665nm Infrared.

Avalanche Creek with Snow and Mountains (+1)

After another fresh snowfall, my wife and I drove into Glacier this afternoon for a hike. We went passed the gorge where I've shot Avalanche creek before, and I found this cascade with the mountains in the background that insisted I stop for a photo. I used three shots for focus stacking and...

The Recipe #42 - Don't Fence Me In

Thanks to Amy, i got digging for this, i would never post it, but then, it actually tells the story of strong wind and deep currents shaking the tripod and me, when Poseidon is mad... Holding the Waves. by lionking posted Apr 8, 2020 at 10:37 PM Have a great light! Cheers.

    Chamonix, Mont Blanc

Did a hike on snowshoes on Sunday. Gorgeous weather! I couldn't decide whether I liked color or b&w better, so here are both :) Prarion by Amy Earl posted Mar 17, 2020 at 10:04 PM Prarion (B&W) by Amy Earl posted Mar 17, 2020 at 10:04 PM

    Contamines Montjoie

This is from last May on another hike in the Alps. This place has a pretty wild feeling when you get up in altitude and I tried to capture that in this photo. I liked the shadows that the clouds were making on the snow. Contamines Montjoie by Amy Earl posted Mar 5, 2020 at 10:50 PM Here's a...

    The Aravis

From a really cool little hike last Friday, this is looking south at the Aravis range which is running nearly in the same direction (north-south, angling west slightly). If this were a clear day the Mont Blanc range would have been visible in the background. The tall point is the Pointe Percée...

    Red Winter

So, I have this obsession with red barns. I love them! They just feel like "classic country" While I was in the Tetons on my last day it was super windy. The day before would have ben perfect except there was a bit of traffic and not much of a place to pull off. I also felt a little...

    Mont Blanc Range from Sallanches

Back in December we snowshoed in the valley called Sallanches which isn't too far from Chamonix and other popular places in the Alps. It offers a nice view on the Mont Blanc massif. I had initially thought to discard this shot and the others in this series, but after revisiting it recently and...
