These were taken on a 3 day ski tour in the North Cascades National Park, The Forbidden Traverse. In the spring it starts and ends with a few hours of carrying skis through some slide alder which can be challenging. The views are some of the best in the park.

These large flocks are quite a sight when they take off en masse to find more food.

I took my mom and a couple of other older friends up to see the birds in the Skagit Valley yesterday. It was cloudy and cool with no birds at the first two spots. Driving north we spotted a large flock of snow geese and stopped to watch them for a while and were treated to a few takeoffs when...
Many people consider this profile of Eldorado Pk. in the North Cascades to be the most graceful in the park.

I almost put this in the wildlife forum, but decided that the landscape was as important in these shots. This was my first photo foray out into the real world since breaking my leg. I'm still on crutches so I had to pick a roadside area and this fit the bill. I headed up after lunch and stayed...
I'll admit to being inspired by someone else's photo to look for this composition - but it was still fun to shoot. This is Panther Creek falls in Southern Washington framed within a fallen tree.
Any thoughts are welcome.
We spent Christmas near Seattle a few years ago, and I took that as an opportunity to make my only visit to Olympic National Park. I took advantage of my daughter being a Twilight fan to make this a Twilight and Photography trek with her (she's since come to her senses). We ended up at Second...
As nice as Panther Creek Falls is in Southern Washington (and it is one of my favorites anywhere), I thought the creek above it was awfully photogenic too. So here is a view. Any thoughts are welcome.
Both taken not far from my house in Lake Stevens a few years ago.
From Red Mt. (spent the night on the summit) looking north to Mt. Pugh and White Chuck.

I just love shooting moving water and creating the silky horse hair flow without over exposure. Normally I have found shooting moving water to suit what I like at around .25 - .5 sec. In this one I shot it at 1 sec. to try and create a more creamy look without getting the "spilt milk" look...
I thought since I was on a role with my first post to the forum I would share another. Been exploring the area here since we retired and I have to say, I feel blessed that this area is only 20-30 minutes from our doorstep. This was a comp that I sat on the river bank thinking, perhaps a shot...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
