Up at Sky Pond in Rocky Mountain National Park, as sunset approached the clouds were moving fast. The clouds above the sawtooths started to dissipate but a whole new set approached from the other side. This is now looking towards the outlet of Sky Pond and out of view but right below that is...
This was from my first night in Glacier. It was a beautiful afternoon, and while the sunset wasn't spectacular, I think it fit the scene well. We walked a little passed the official overlook so I could get a view that looked down the lake a little more. My wife was already nervous about hiking...
Sunset on the Tuscan hills of Val d'Orcia. This one evening, at sunset, I witnessed and photographed some truly beautiful light painting the farmhouse and trees in front of me with smooth, warm pastel tones. Just incredible!
A 13 seconds exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 90mm and...
As sunset rolled in so did these awesome storm clouds. It was like a feeling of pending doom or Armageddon approaching. This was in the Grand Tetons from a month ago from the Blacktail Pond Overlook area. Because of the clouds it was one of those where the colors were amazing in that there was...
This was from Arches as the sun had set and there was some cool color in the sky. I spotted this person who had climbed up to the top of that little spire just to the side of Turret Arch. She was so focused on taking a multitude of selfies unaware of all of real faces that she should have been...
Sunset at Londrangar, in Iceland. I simply love the winter light there, soft and beautiful, and I can't wait to be back in December! 16 seconds exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.
Thank you for viewing, best regards

While I was in Arches a few days ago, the sunset was pretty cool with the color lighting up the underneath of some clouds creating some arching patterns. But the best color was after the sunset. This is Turret Arch in The Windows area of Arches National Park. I have found that while Turret Arch...
Val d'Orcia, in Tuscany, is quintessential and iconic Italy. I am fortunate enough to go multiple times a year to photograph there, and each time is an amazing experience for me. A 23 seconds exposure at sunset with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 45mm and my Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra...
I worked as an assistant climbing ranger and lived at Sunrise back in the summer of 72. I have many wonderful memories of walking The Silver Forest trail after the crowds left. My wife and I lucked out having the trail to ourselves last week on a beautiful summer evening.
In the previous thread I replayed to Alan (great photo IMHO) about taking a photo at midday light but I myself lost again and surrendered to that magic light yesterday at my hometown beach. To be honest I was so happy to be there after a while. C&C are welcome as always.
Hey guys!

I was down in Schwabachers in the evening to show the grandkids that area, when the storm clouds became much more serious and the wind and rain made it hard to photograph. So we packed up the kids and was heading back to camp to cook dinner, but as I got close to Blacktail Pond Overlook I...
A view of the west end of the Grand Mesa. Shooting IR in the evening can be tricky, IR does not fair well with strong shadows...but it you hit it just right, it can be very beautiful.

Strong nature and human ingenuity characterise the lagoons of the river Po's Delta in Italy. Here is a "Casone", a typical construction in Comacchio's lagoons to keep an eye on pirate fishermen. A 3-seconds exposure taken almost three years ago at sunset with Leica S (007), Leica 30-90mm...
Last week as I was driving to my daughters house who is north of Denver Colorado from New Mexico, the sun was starting to make for some interesting color as it was going being the Rockies. I thought that there might be a chance for some nice coloring, so I took the next exit off of the I-25 and...

Not sure which forum to put this in, it could fit landscape, or wildlife (I think the pelicans make it), but the city in the background dominates for me so I put it here. Got this last week with my German friends who were...
