This was from a month ago out in Joshua Tree National Park. I have a favorite little spot to set up there that has almost the whole sky open to shoot.
I gave up on processing this one at least twice over the last month. It's a super faint Nebula, it's one you can't see by eye or see in the...
It was a wet night at Bambino's in Anaheim, California! Another glorious rain filled day and the rain continued on into the night. So I went out camera in hand to capture some local city scenes that had gotten wet. I had a blast! :)

In between shooting Deep Space objects for most of the night and Sunrise, I wanted to shoot some wide field stars with my Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens at Joshua Tree NP a few days ago. I composed this wide to include the bush on the left. Most often that's composed out, but I wanted to go wider and so I...
Out of dark he came, the Rider of Mysteries!
I shot this last night at a local park I think about 9pm, they really have some strong lights at night now in the parks but I thought the lighting created a cool look. This is SOOC from the Sony A6400 my car camera.

Not sure if this is a cityscape, but it definitely isn't a landscape...
I was in Gualala this weekend visiting my parents and did some night shooting while there. The Sea Ranch Chapel is a relatively famous landmark in the area with a really unique architecture. I spent some time trying to...
This from the beginning of August when Alisa and I went to American Basin to shoot wildflowers, and we got tons of awesome wildflower photos from there with the bloom being a week or two later then normal due to the extreme snow this year. The major road into it got taken out by landslides the...
I set up my camera to do a time-lapse on top of Mt. Pilchuck this week. I'm afraid the heavy dew obscured most of the pictures, but did lead to an interesting effect on the rising moon.
The amazing northern lights over Kirkjufells, in Iceland. 16 seconds exposure with my Hasselblad X1D & Hasselblad XCD 21mm.
Thank you for viewing, best regards
Vieri
This was the original composition I had set up last weekend when I shot this location with Jim. The light on the ground is from the setting moon, which really did give us a nice glow. I left my camera in place until the sky got fully dark and took a second shot for the sky. This image is a blend...
I was in Palm Springs for the weekend with family, arriving on Thursday during some impressive flash flooding. I got up early (2am) Saturday morning to drive into Joshua Tree and look for stars. I made it to my spot at about 3:15 and some guy named Jim Fox had already taken the best composition...
The Focus this Friday is on Stars!
Please add your Star photos to this Thread.
I will start out with a few.

This is from the Bristlecone Pine Forest, and is a very commonly shot tree.
This is from the Philippines off the island of Bohol
These next 2 are from the Bisti Badlands area...
Wish my backyard looked like that today - this is from back in 2008. Click through for a larger gallery image.

I took this last night at the Davenport "crack" just north of Santa Cruz. I've made several attempts at this composition over the last several years and was generally thwarted by the weather. The downside of trying to get the Milky Way core along the NorCal coast is that we often get a nasty...
So we head south - @lionking (Andrey Wagner) and me to the quiet and dark desert (I read that there where 10000 quiet people down there with us) to try and take the perseoids with the milky way but we were looking for a nice fg as well so after a while when it was too dark we found that unnamed...
I took this at the end of a workshop in Yosemite. The rest of the group was coming down the hill and their flashlights provided the side light on this glacial erratic near Olmsted Point.
This was from the second night of my visit to Yosemite last weekend. After a cloudy day the skies cleared just before sunset and after having dinner in the valley we made our way to Glacier Point. I had found this spot on a previous visit, with a nice clear view to the east. Unlike previous...
After shooting sunset at Glacier Point, we headed back toward the valley and parked near Bridalveil Falls for the hike up to Artist's Point. I picked this spot for my night shots because it has an open view and is less affected by lights than Tunnel View. Plus we had it to ourselves.
The ground...
This is from an evening a few years ago where I arrived in Yosemite after dark, left before dawn, and shot icons my moonlight in between. It is a blast having these spots to myself.
Any thoughts are welcome.
After a dinner in Banff we noticed that the snow had stopped, the clouds had thinned, and the quarter moon was providing some nice light. So what else could we do but head back to Second Vermilion Lake for some night shooting!
Any thoughts are welcome.
This was taken near Point Arena at a spot I'd found while hiking with my Dad. The forecast was for clear skies but for some reason a cloud decided to hover over this area. It added a dreamy effect to the stars at least.
Just for grins, I'm also including the lunar fog-bow I caught while hiking...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
