One of the most photographed location/barn in Wyoming, this is definitely a sunrise/morning location, sun falls on the Tetons and the barn early morning. I was little late getting there after shooting sunrise at Schwabachers landing, Absolutely a must visit when you are in Yellowstone/Grand...
This trip was full of extremes. It came about without any significant amount of planning and happened around the shortest and the coldest time of the year. I went to the farthest North part of Canada where you can still drive.
This photo shows mountains near the Artic Circle at around 1pm. As...
When I was planning the most recent winter trip to Canadian North I wasn’t exactly sure if it was the best idea, as I didn’t know what could be expected. However, the photographic conditions that I saw there fully compensated for all my initial doubts.
Because my trip fell at the very end of the...
A steep rocky trail (harder on my old knees to descend) leads to this beautiful alpine basin in the central Cascades.

These were taken on a 3 day ski tour in the North Cascades National Park, The Forbidden Traverse. In the spring it starts and ends with a few hours of carrying skis through some slide alder which can be challenging. The views are some of the best in the park.

This small peak (also known as Red Mt.) is located off the Mountain Loop Hwy in Washington's central Cascades, just west of Glacier Pk. There is a very steep climber's trail up the first section, but it fades out on the upper open slopes of heather and talus. The difficulty results in few...
Yesterday I attempted to do some snowshoeing in RMNP. The wind was too much for my liking 30-50mph is not fun to be out in. However I did manage to get some shots while leaving.
Back in the 70s I spent almost 2 weeks in the Bugaboos of BC and only had two good climbing days (which were worth the wait). This was taken on a day we walked around on the glacier for exercise. Note the climbers in the gully on the left.

This image opens a new collection of my photos named “Tundra.” It was taken in the early afternoon up in the Canadian North. At the end of December when days are very short the sun appears low on the horizon. There is no visible transition into daylight, just a sunrise that turns with time into...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
