Got Aerochromed in the Teton + Edit

This is my 2nd attempt at the old Aerochrome look, which was an old film type of IR film. My first attempt I never saved as I was just playing around after @Amy Nelson introduced us to the Aerochrome look a month or so ago. The basic idea behind the Aerochrome for those who didn't see Amy's...

My first post here in the Infrared group

Thanks so much for the invite to join this group. Hopefully I will learn a lot and get benefit and inspiration from my fellow IR photographers.

    TP

Learning experience for 3-28-2021: a standard ND Filter does not work on a Full Spectrum camera with a infrared drop in filter. But it did make a nice "high key" black and white. This was taken with a Edge 50 Lensbaby lens. Note: They do make IRND Filters

    Old and Older?

Yesterday during the blizzard here in Colorado I went out in the late afternoon to see what I could find. A lot of the roads were not plowed, but the main ones were not. The side roads were fun since there was a good a foot or so of snow on those roads. This is a local barn by a local hiking...

    Open the Door

To Infrared Photography! :) From downtown Greeley on Friday as I was doing some pinhole camera photography before the snowstorm hit today. Greeley is growing pretty big, but still has a section of the town that is still a bunch of old buildings next to the train tracks. Nikon D7100 - 590nm No...

    Beautiful Morning # 2

Full Spectrum - 665nm Filter - processed in the Areochrome look. (I really like this look with the snow)

    Past the Harvest

Here is a Barn I found outside of Greeley Colorado while exploring some backroads yesterday. There was a bit of a storm coming in and it made for some cool clouds. Nikon D7100 - 590nm conversion Channel Swapped All comments welcome, Jim

    Rural Route

This an infrared 665nm I took last July. I added a texture to it because it felt more like a painting to me.

    The Mirror is Broken

A mirror image this could have been... Hopefully you can see what I am seeing.... or perhaps not seeing.... :) Valley of Fire, Nevada. This isn't too far from the parking area for the Fire Wave. This also is not Channel Swapped but it does have the Custom WB for Infrared. I have really been...

    Thunderstorm Arch - Infrared B&W

Thunderstorm Arch is in Valley of Fire. I captured it a week ago, and with the stormy skies that morning, this arch seemed like the appropriate place to be shooting. This is a 590nm IR shot that was channel swapped and then converted to B&W. All comments are welcome, Jim

    Gone with the Wind

Included BNW & Color version, taken with my Canon T3i 665nm converted camera. The tittle is because every time I look at the BNW I think of the movie "Gone with the Wind". Thanks for stopping by!

    Trona Pinnacles

This is from early morning in Trona Pinnacles west of Death Valley. It is shot in 590nm IR, it had the custom WB, but no Channel Swap as I liked the way it looked best this way. Nikon D7100 590nm All comments are welcome, Jim

Aerochrome in the San Juan's + Sample Photos

A DIGITAL VERSION OF KODAK's AEROCHROME IR FILM 665nm conversion (minus the film grain) (I added a matte finish to my image, which lighted up the red) For those no familiar with Aeorchrome, here are a few samples from other photographers:

    Victoria Tower in IR

This is from last week. I went down to shoot timelapse at Thousand Step Beach and Victoria Beach, but of course to also capture some stills. I wasn't sure how this IR at the beach would turn out with Victoria Tower, but I am liking the color shades that did come out. No real processing here...

    Last Leaf

I went the other night to another local park to take some test shots against some chain link fence by their tennis courts as I am trying to deduce why I am sometimes getting very soft edges with this D7100 and 18-200mm lens since it was converted to IR. It only happens sometimes, so I was doing...

    IR in High Key

I shot this the other day in a local park. It's not intentionally High Key, but it turned out that way. This is with minimal processing. Just the normal Custom WB and Channel Swap. Nothing else. Nikon D7100 @ 590nm IR All comments are welcome, Jim

    Revisiting the Old

Now that we are getting a few people starting up in the IR world, I'll share a little info on my start up. I received my first IR camera in the summer, ideal time right, well I became very frustrated with the post processing and didn't touch it again few months. When I started shooting IR, there...

    Cactus in B&W IR

This is a closeup of some cactus I captured the other day. It's done in 590nm IR, Channel Swapped and then converted to B&W in Photoshop with the B&W convertor tool. All comments are welcome, Jim

    A Sticky Propostion

In a local park in Fullerton, California the other day I was playing around more with my newly converted Nikon D7100 to 590nm IR, and I found this cool hill with cactus on it. So I decided to play with it a bit to see how it would come out. This one has a Custom WB, but probably not the correct...

    At the Flag

Here is 2 versions of a scene I saw yesterday in my local park in Fullerton. The first one is how I might normally have my B&W look, and the second one is with the blacker darker sky that can be easily done with IR to B&W conversions. I did the more normal one first and then as I was saving it I...
