    Last Rays

Nice ...... I like the flare from the sun. Did that just happen or did you do something there? Where were you? And was this taken from a drone?

    Thursday’s Task

Wow .... lots of great Spring shots here. The flowers and blossoms are amazing. Around mid March to mid April, the wildflowers begin to come out on the mossy hills around Victoria, BC, Canada. These Satin Flowers are some of the first to show up on the hills above the Juan de Fuca Strait. We...

    The View to Cape Sebastian

Great shot (and a great spot). We camped there a couple of Decembers ago. I think the DJI drone is doing pretty well. I am tempted to buy my neighbor's Mini 2 (not 4K) that he doesn't use. I could probably get it for around $300CA ($220US) - then go through the scarey learning curve. My son...

    Sunset Glow

Great color and mood, Michael. It looks like a great area to explore.

    Spring Flowers

Around mid March to mid April, the wildflowers come out on the mossy hills around Victoria, BC, Canada. These Satin Flowers are some of the first to show up on the hills above the Juan de Fuca Straight. We are looking over to snow still on the Olympic Mountains in Washington state.

    Thursday’s Task

Hey.... thanks for starting this, John. There are many amazing images here. (I really like your "March" rock.) My contribution is a shot of one of our favourite places in March - Anza Borrego State Park, just below Palm Springs, CA. The flowers were magnificant in 2017.

    Fall in the Tetons

Wow .... I like that. There is so much more going on.

    From a walk.

Both are great photos here. Also it an interesting comparison of pine trees. My offer are some Shore Pines (Pinus contorta) on the very southern tip of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. We also have Western White Pine and Lodgepole Pine on the island (not shown).

    Wave Meets Foaming Gorp

That's interesting. It is nicely captured. 1/2000sec, eh? I am going to have to try that.

    Fall in the Tetons

.... very impressive. I like the moody light typical of the mountains. I find the mountains very blue.

    News from the Quebecois

Have fun down there, Rick. Nice to see some photos of your travels. Any problem at the US border? My wife Janet and I have been going from Vancouver Island to the southern California and Arizona deserts also .... but not this year unfortunately. We used to take the rig down into Mexico, but...

    Northern Vancouver Island

Yes, the blackberry bushes are making a mess of stuff. IMO, what's worse is the Scotch Broom that has beat out lots of wilderness and wildflower meadows on a huge chunk of the southern half of the island. The drought doesn't help - they love it. At least you can eat the blackberries (yum).

    Northern Vancouver Island

Well, Jim. You can include almost all of Vancouver Island to your Alaska trip. Take a short cut - take the ferry from Pt Hardy (north tip of VI) to Prince Rupert BC...

    Northern Vancouver Island

In early September, I took a 10 day solo truck/camper trip to the northern tip of Vancouver Island. It is further than you may think - I took the 500km drive in our truck/camper from Sooke (near VIctoria) to Port McNeill. There is a long stretch of hardly anything but forest and mountains...

    Looking Upstream

Thanks, Alan .... that is encouraging. I too would probably use it mainly for still shots.

    Looking Upstream

Great shot, Alan. This is real inspiration to get a drone. My neighbour has one for sale that I can get a deal on. How did you find the "learning-curve" - was there stress involved? I did fly it once, but pretty well just straight up and back down. But like your shot here - that may work...

    The Pearl of the Desert

This place is on my bucket list when we visit southern Arizona again. Its a great view you provided. You have to wonder what happened to the other bell-tower - lightning? It probably saw a few strikes since 1692. Many of the churches we have seen in Mexico have the same problem but are still...

    Just Outside - Oaxaca, Mexico

Thanks, Jim. Maybe it inspires you to take the trip? Building the article went really well this time.
