    Best of 2021

    1. My main ski partner, Eric, enjoying our best day of back-country powder last year at Stevens Pass. We were lucky to have this whole area of the mountain to ourselves on this sunny day, felt like the good ole days when we started skiing here ~30 years ago. 2. Eric got this shot of me the...

    Thanks to my muse

Almost missed this sunset down in the basemen at my computer. My wife called me up to see it, I ran down to get the drone, rushed out and got it up to grab this. Skyline L-R: Cascades, Mt. Rainier, Sky Scrapers of Seattle, Olympics, Puget Sound. Lake Stevens below.

    Mt. Loop in B&W

I just posted some color images over in Landscape, but as usual converted many to B&W. Hall Pk. Snow covers a fallen tree on the shore of the river Drone View of snow The drone makes it easy to get nice snow pictures without footprints!

    Mt. Loop Revisited

I went X-skiing up The Mountain Loop Hwy with my wife last week and had a great time. Fresh deep snow was heavy in the trees so it was a winter wonderland. I only had my iPhone 13 Pro, which did a great job as usual, but I really wished I'd brought a real camera. After a few days of rain in the...

    Morning Kayaker

Yesterday I posted a color shot taken a bit later when the sunrise color was at it's best. Still gray at this point so a B&W conversion was in order. I think the lone kayak fisherman makes it.

    Sunrise Over LAKE STEVENS

Sunrise looked like it had potential this morning so I drove to the other side of the lake to fly my drone. Nothing spectacular, but a nice view down on a kayaker fishing (tiny dot upper right in the lake). The color only lasted about 10 min., just enough to capture this 4x4 pano before the...

New Years Day up The Mt. Loop

Back up the winter wonderland of the Mountain Loop Hwy for a great morning of X-skiing with my wife. I made my way over to the river to look back at Long Pk. I was really wishing I'd hauled my Sony along but made do with the iPhone 13 Pro for this.

Merry Christmas From The Mountain Loop

I snapped this just after we were turned around yesterday (Christmas Day) by a big tree across the road two miles from where we were going to X-ski. As you can see the snow was beautiful. Disappointed to miss out on skiing, but thankful the tree missed us. As we came around the corner and saw it...

Ann on her first big back-country day

My buddy Gordy and I got his daughter Ann out on her biggest day of back-country skiing yet. It was also our first day of the season and perhaps the best ever with knee deep light powder and no rocks scrapping skis. She was worried she wouldn't be able to climb back out of the route we took, but...

    Navaho Knobs Pano

I did this trail in Capital Reef with my wife a few years ago, but high winds turned us around before we reached the top. This fall we made it to the fantastic view point. Gallery image

What the !@#?? - A True Photo Mystery!

I found this on my phone yesterday. I took a few snaps of my wife working in her sewing room a couple days ago and must have accidentally taken this. Neither of us can figure out what it is. Looks like the ceiling, ripped paper, and a distorted reflexion in the upper left corner. I've taken...
