Here are a few images of the Slots. They were constructed a lot different then most slots I have been in. It looked like someone had scraped down from the top down to the bottom. Also lot's of rocks mixed in with the clay/dirt of the slot.
Generally speaking the slots were very narrow and had...
From Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada. I got this about 2 weeks ago. What a fun place to go, I can't believe it took my 20 years to get there.
This is from outside the slots. The slots are coming, but I am trying to work up everyone's appetites for them. :)
And look for a travel video on...
I finally visited Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada a few weeks ago. I have been wanting to go there for maybe 20 years. Which is a crazy long time, but I am trying to finally take the time to stop at some of these places that I most often zip by as I am in a hurry to get somewhere else...
I went to Cathedral Gorge in Nevada last week on my way back to California, and spotted this cool bus on a little mound. So I had to stop. It looks cool in natural color, but I thought it also might look cool in IR.
This is 590nm IR, with the Color Swap. When doing the Color Swap, usually the...
Back in January, on the 19th I was in Colorado at my daughters and saw there was an alert for Northern Lights. But like recently, clouds were an issue. I wanted to drive 5 or 6 hours and get up to Montana, but they were socked in, even the middle of Wyoming was showing clouds, so Chugwater and...
Thankfully Monika reminded me that I hadn't posted these yet.
Actually it's from Green River, but I was staying in Rock Springs Wyoming as I was driving West on the 80 to head to California earlier this week.
There was some nice clouds so I drive the 10 minutes to get to Green River where...
I was heading down the I-15 south from Salt Lake City. I had dropped off my Nikon Z6 II at Spencer's Camera to get it Astro modified.
I was enjoying the snow covered mountains to the East as I was driving south, but lamenting the fact that in that Salt Lake City area it feels like they have...
I am working on another timelapse from last November of what I am calling the Super Show of 2025 for Northern Lights.
This is one of the images that makes up the timelapse, it should be uploaded on Thursday to my YouTube Channel.
Nikon D850 and Sigma 14mm f1.8

This is from 2 days ago at the Nature Area in Northern Colorado that I have been going to this week. There was a dead goose on the frozen lake, and this Bald Eagle was up in the tree looking over it.
Nikon Z6III and Tamron 50-400mm

I thought about cropping this so the house wasn't there, but then decided the way that it's kind of hidden I would just leave it.
This is back at the Nature area in Northern Colorado near my daughters house. It's the same day I caught the Golden Eagle, and the Canadian Goose walking on the ice...
While searching for Bald Eagles the other day at the local Nature area in Northern Colorado, I came upon this guy just out all by himself enjoying some alone time I think?
All comments are welcome,
Jim
I was at the local Nature Area yesterday, I got there later then I wanted to as I wanted to try and capture some Bald Eagles that hang out there. I got just a brief glance at one as soared across the lake. I had lot's of trees in the way, but there was a small window, and I got a half dozen...
Some recent Solar activity hit the earth yesterday. During the afternoon it was showing almost KP9. So after dropping a couple of grandkids off at the dance studio, I threw my cameras back into my truck and drove North into Wyoming.
Due to cloudy weather in Northern Wyoming, j stayed in...
As I was leaving Valley of Fire this morning after a night of using my Smart telescope, testing out a new small tracker, and a couple of cameras just capturing the night sky, I spotted what looked like a Baby Elephant Arch by the East Entrance station. I drove past thinking I can return another...
This has several hundred images in it, Luckily I didn't have to pick just 10 for my video. :)
Please Watch this on YouTube, and leave a comment and Like it. YouTube will push my video to more people, the more that it's Liked.

This is from the Seestar S50 from my Bortle 9 patio in California. So lot's of Light Pollution, and I decided not to do a Mosaic but to just do the single framing and focus in on the middle part of the Heart Nebula.
887 Subs @ 20 secs long with the Light Pollution Filter on.
I should try and...
One of the great things about being up in Minnesota during the Fall Color season is that it's also a great time to capture the Northern Lights! :)
This is actually East out of Duluth into Wisconsin, with a secluded beach overlooking Lake Superior I found on the map that actually turned out...
Actually Doug's birthday was yesterday, and I meant to write this yesterday, so I apologize for being a day late Doug!
And it's Doug's 86th birthday!
So congrats Doug! And as I wrote on FaceBook, here is to 86 more years! :)
@Douglas Sherman
I realized I missed processing all of my Minnesota Fall Color photos from last year.... all of them. :( So now I am digging through them quickly to get them added into my year end Best Photos of 2025.
I captured this from a fire tower in Mille Lacs Kathio State Park in Minnesota. So it allowed...
This is from the Super Show of 2025 on November 11, 2025. I didn't shoot many verticals, but I captured this before switching the D850 back to horizontal for it's timelapse.
I think it's kind of cool having the winter Milky Way showing above the lights. It's fainter then the summer MW, but it's...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
