It's been a couple of days now since we arrived in Summerland for a few weeks stay. We really like the little town vibe and proximity to Montecito and Santa Barbara. Had to get a shot of the town from the ocean via drone.
Today was a bucket list day for me . . . My first visit to the Grand Canyon! I know many on the forum have likely been there numerous times so excuse my giddyness from my first visit. This was a detour from our trek from Minnesota to Santa Barbara and well worth taking the extra day for the...
Today’s journey took us from Guymon, OK to Santa Fe, NM. Once we left Guymon, we were on a single rural road for 180 miles during which time we only went through two small towns. The landscape was flat with only telephone poles lining the roadway for 180 miles. Then we hit fog. Only problem...
Looking toward Dillon from Keystone, CO with Highway 6 in the foreground. The Mavic 3 Drone has zoom capabilities but the second lens on the camera is not as good quality as the main camera. Nonetheless, I needed to give it a try. I can see lower resolution but for this kind of shot, the end...
Still experimenting with different lighting, processing, backgrounds and more. There's so many things to vary including the viscosity of the water droplets and the liquid in the catch basin. Then there's opacity (adding milk/cream), adding surfactant to reduce water surface tension (yes, I'm a...

More than a foot of snow over the last 36 hours has made my neighborhood look like a winter wonderland . . . except for clearing the driveway and walks . . .
I've been down with a nasty cold for the past several days but had to get out today and take a few shots.

I don't know if these are my best but they are among my favorites! Happy New Year everyone!
#1 - A recent drone shot of the island I call home. Taken with my new Mavic 3 which blows away my previous drone
#2 - On the lakeshore of Lake Minnetonka; Late autumn sunset.
#3 - I could have...
I still only have a single flash and probably need at least two more. One is on the way! In the meantime, I'm continuing to play with different solutions, backgrounds and lighting angles. Here's a few from last night.
