it has been interesting in Yellowstone the last 2 weeks lots of strange weather - snow , rain, wind - but the bears are enjoying it

been watching this Harris Hawk family for several years - this year they have a nest on a Saguaro cactus - one chick has made and appearance and family members are keeping it well fed - the Harris Hawk is a family of hunters they plot and corral their prey and cooperate hunt in the Arizona Desert

I have photographed this particular cactus for several years now and it has always been a night when they bloom - this year the are blooming in the morning and gone by night time - their clocks are out of kilter - I used a white and black background board as it was way to bright with day light

these Hawks are the only raptor that hunt as family sometimes up to 5 birds - this one is sitting on a nest and 2 others come and go - they will help with the feeding -

still working on the many humming bird photos came across this one- a Violet tail Sylph and a Velvet Purple Corenet

there are so many different birds in Ecuador - took 7000+ photos and did not scratch the surface - more color- Scarlet Macaw, black head parrot, grey/blue tanager, and Racket tail (white pants) hummer
