    Waterfall Wednesday 1/14/2026

Wednesday is for Waterfalls so anything that shows water being influenced by the fact that the earth sucks (gravity is just an illusion :)) belongs here. My offering for today is a small stretch of rapids along Sweet Creek from a visit last October.

    Intense reds

Taking pictures with a drone wasn't even a pipe dream when I was living there and practical digital photography was still years away when I left.

You forgot to number your pictures 🤪 You had a good year with your imagery. How many miles did you put on your 4 Runner?

As amazing as the colors on these avian specimens are in your images the accompanying prose is pretty much a match for the colors 😄

This is one of the nicer views of the Wasatch Range I recall seeing. So much nicer from the air.

    Fall at Cape Horn

Thanks Jameel - the Cape Horn viewpoint is actually just around the corner so this particular slope can only be seen from the Oregon side. Hwy 14 is near the top of the slope in this view. You can see this at Crown Point which is above and behind where I shot this from.

The last one is my favorite both here and in the Best of 2025 thread. Nice set.

    Mt. Jefferson

Thanks Jameel - we are having a dry week with air stagnation warnings so I was surprised at being able to see as far as Mt. Jefferson. Thanks for pointing out my lens citation error - yes this is with the Mavic 4 Pro with the 168mm lens.

    Penny's Disney eyes

Almost a bit spooky how wide her pupils are in this shot.

    Mt. Jefferson

Thanks Michael - it's really rough making the 60' arduous trek from my office through the kitchen and out to the deck to launch my drone :p
