Interesting that the Russians left California just before the gold rush (not enough furs to be profitable for trade.) Then left Alaska before the gold rush there. It might have been a different world had they stayed. This photo is a contrast as the cannons are in front of the church.

Enjoyed a nice sunset at Pacifica Pier along the coast. Sometimes you just get lucky, everything seemed to fall into place.

Near Oriville Ca. Frey Creek Falls

Hopefully it is repaired since the earthquake last year. one of the lakes drained because a fissure opened up on the bottom. They allow 40,000 people in here each day and lots of days especially in season they turn people away. Still worth the trip.

I had the great opportunitiy to travel to China and visit several of the national Parks. This waterfall is in Jiuzhaigou and is about 1/2mile around. very picturesque and beautiful.
