On our recent trip to UT, on the way to Capitol Reef National Park from Moab, we came across one of the many bizarre rock formations that are all across southern Utah. These were right up against the highway.
I almost did not ask to stop, as we had the rest of our party following in another car, and I was feeling bad about making them pull over. Beyond that though, the wind was really whipping up, the clouds were scudding across the sky, and I was not sure about standing outside. But up to this part of the trip these were almost the only clouds we had seen, and the rocks looks pretty interesting. I ended up getting out, and getting sandblasted a bit as I tried to hand hold a couple of images before scuttling back to the safety of the car. The clouds were moving so fast that the light was changing a lot, giving the 2 images included here a different feel that goes beyond the different framing of the scene I think.
