Maybe venture out to Colorado next fall? The Eastern Sierra can have awesome fall colors, but they are limited to specific places, so much so that Bishop has a Fall Color Map pin pointing all 10 or 12 locations. So I know after a while it can get old. That's why my shooting the Fall Colors in Colorado over the last 6 or 7 years has been really awesome for me. And what's great when it's a whole states worth of color, when I start to get a little bored with one area, there are 30 or 40 more area's to start exploring and shooting.OK, Spent four more days in the eastern CA Bishop area after the Sunday FocalWorld meet up and shoot. Things were generally barely OK in most places. Up to the end of Rock Creek Road and back, and there were a few patches but nothing worth shooting. Convict lake never has a lot of color but I like looking across and hoping for nice clouds, which were there. South Fork of Bishop Creek Canyon seemed to be the most photogenic, but frankly, it didn't get me too excited because I've been there so darn many times photographing the same locations over again. I'm craving the scene in other states and New England, where there are various colors all over. I don't want to look at yellow now for a few weeks. Sorry for the lousy report but I am rather particular and need a change-up.
With that said, I would sure hanker for some East Coast colors myself. Maybe not next year, but perhaps the year after.
