Diving into the Mosel.

I was mesmerised by this gull feeding on catfish on the Mosel river in Germany. We had pulled over for a quick lunch and ended up staying a couple of hours watching this guy fishing.

Unbelievable timing on this shot Terry - there isn't even a splash yet and the shutter speed was fast enough to make it look like the bird is somehow hovering with no motion artifacts at all.

Thanks Alan, as you can imagine there were a few shots either side of this one. Couldn’t believe how much one bird could eat and remain airborne.

I suspect that's a black-headed gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus). Awesome timing!!!
