Winged Wednesday 9/4/19

For the ninth “Winged Wednesday,” I have selected a another hummingbird photograph from my backyard. This rufous hummingbird is presented in a perfect lateral pose with both wings extended forward in the same plane. Every feather is in perfect focus because the entire bird is within the extremely narrow 1-inch Depth of field.

A couple of hummingbirds having a little discussion in my front yard. They have been showing up more and more. I believe it's due to the fact that the wild flowers are starting to die and I have a couple of feeders. So I grabbed my camera and starting shooting. I'm pretty happy considering this was handheld and with an ISO of 1000.

Lucky I caught this as it flew by our ship in Glacier Bay. Not as sharp as I would like on the head, but I am happy to have it, especially since it has a crab in it's claws. Maybe someone here can identify what kinds of hawk for me
