Ancient Path

About halfway up the continuously ascending trail to Sky Pond in RMNP there is an area with a series of split logs to cross these cascades and the soggy ground surrounding it. The trail splits here and one trail heads up along the cascades. It was occasionally raining on this day with periods of thunder and lightning where I would stop and hold up under shelter to let the storm pass.

This was taken last Friday.

I like the mood of the deep forest scene here and the scattered blooms along the banks add some nice visual treats for color. Nice choice for shutter speed with this water flow.
